Our Time Wind Quintet 

Our Time Wind Quintet specializes in performances that hold space for authentic connection and conversation. Members of the quintet are highly accomplished performers who integrate their collective passions and varied interests to create new ways to dialogue through chamber music. Through intentional and purposeful programming, Our Time offers a moment for attendees to reconnect with their simple but profound capacity to listen. The group aspires to share their joyous spirit through performance, educational engagement, and community partnerships. Our Time Wind Quintet holds space to weave together a more supportive humanity. 

Members 

A believer in music’s uniting powers, flutist Edna Jeon has been praised for her impressive technique and thoughtful approach to music as a soloist, collaborator, and orchestral musician. After she received her BM at the University of Colorado Boulder, she earned her MM at Carnegie Mellon University while serving as a Graduate Assistant of the flute studio. She currently resides in Honolulu where she plays piccolo/3rd flute in the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to her hometown in California and visiting the sea lions at Pier 39. 

Oboist Jordan Pyle’s love of music came at an early age when she fell in love with Mozart operas; dancing, singing and acting out scenes from The Magic Flute. This passion for musical storytelling is the foundation of her oboe playing. In addition to chamber music, Jordan plays 2nd oboe/English horn with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and has held the position of Principal oboe with the Las Colinas Symphony. She has performed as a substitute musician with the Dallas Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, and Colorado Symphony. She was a fellow with the National Repertory Orchestra and National Orchestral Institute and Festival. Jordan received her BM at the University of Colorado Boulder where she studied with Peter Cooper, and her MM at Southern Methodist University, where she was a student of Erin Hannigan. A strong believer in giving back, Jordan, a Chinese adoptee, serves as a chapter coordinator for Adopteen, an organization that serves to provide community and mentorship for adoptees. 

Dan Mills is a clarinet teacher and performer living in Fort Collins, Colorado. He is a substitute player with the Fort Collins and Cheyenne Symphonies. Previously, Dan completed a Master of Music in clarinet performance at University of Colorado Boulder, where he was a graduate clarinet teaching assistant in the studio of Daniel Silver. Dan received a Bachelor of Music in clarinet performance at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he studied with Jon Manasse. In his free time he enjoys drawing and biking. 

Rising professional horn player, Taryn Lee deeply engages in the musical conversation through her sonorous tone and sensitive musicality. Lee immerses herself in the ever changing musical landscape—eager to learn and share ideas and stories. Lee served as a 2017-2018 ArtistYear AmeriCorps fellow in Northeast Philadelphia and continues to explore her connection to community as a certified yoga teacher and outdoor explorer. A graduate of the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins and the University of Colorado Boulder, Lee studied with Denise Tryon and Michael Thornton. 

Keegan Hockett is currently pursuing his DMA in Bassoon Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Iowa while working as a research assistant in the Office of Outreach and Engagement. He previously attended the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music where he earned his MM as a Henry Mancini Fellow. Keegan has also performed at the National Orchestral Institute, Kent Blossom Music Festival, and with various regional orchestras in both Iowa and South Florida. In his free time he enjoys learning about food cultures and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
