Jordan Pyle
(She/Her/Hers)
Jordan’s love of music came at an early age when she fell in love with Mozart operas; dancing, singing, and acting out scenes from The Magic Flute. This passion for musical storytelling is the foundation for her oboe playing and teaching. Jordan plays 2nd oboe/English horn with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and has held the position of Principal oboe with the Las Colinas Symphony. She is a founding member of Our Time Wind Quintet. Jordan has performed as a fellow in the National Repertory Orchestra and National Orchestral Institute, and has played with the Dallas Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, and Colorado Symphony. With a love for teaching, Jordan has taught oboe lessons and master classes with several school districts in the Dallas area. During her years in North Texas, she worked with over 40 students ranging form beginner level to high school seniors. Jordan received her MM at Southern Methodist University, studying with Erin Hannigan and her BM at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she studied with Peter Cooper.
A strong believer in giving back, Jordan, a Chinese adoptee, volunteers with Adopteen at The Park Adoption Community Center. She served as a committee leader for the first virtual camp conference in July 2020 and was a chapter coordinator for the Adopteen Plano chapter. In these roles, Jordan provides mentoring and community building events for adoptees to foster fellowship, celebration, and pride in our stories.
