We invite music program directors and recruiters to join us for facilitated discussion around creating more ethical and equitable admission and audition practices.

This year, our goal is to not only create individual action plans, but work with our cohort to create a shareable plan that will set a national standard for a more equitable and ethical system.

Calida N. Jones, Keynote Speaker

Calida N. Jones is an accomplished musician, social justice advocate, and educator with more than 20 years of experience in performance planning, workshop and curriculum development, volunteerism, project management, and teaching in private and public institutions. Working with arts and cultural organizations across the nation, she has led efforts in advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and access. Passionate about intentional purposeful teaching and community engagement, her personal mission is to ensure that children with limited resources have access to musical opportunities and activities. She is also committed to correlating the art of teaching to life skills and community building.

Nora Segura-Barpal

Music Inclusion Coalition, Executive Director | Co-Founder

Nora Segura-Barpal graduated from New York University with her M.A. in May 2020. After graduating, she co-founded the Music Inclusion Coalition (MIC) in order to address inequities in collegiate music programs. In May 2021 she moved to San Francisco where she is currently Director of Individual Giving for New Conservatory Theatre Center.
